This is a beautiful and inspiring poem by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) – reading this at dawn is a great way to greet the day.

Look to This Day
For it is the Day of Days.

In its brief space lie –
All the Verities and Realities
Of existence.

The bliss of growth
The glory of action
The splendour of beauty.

Yesterday is a dream,
And tomorrow – only a vision.

But Today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow
a vision of joy.

Look well, therefore,
To This Day –
Such is the salutation
of the DAWN.
